Education in Rural Areas

Since 1997, LVAP has constructed and equipped three rural schools and two kindergartens in Hoc Mo, Binh Chanh and Cu Chi Districts (50 kms from HCMC). Overall these Educational projects:

  • provide sustainable learning for over 2000 children;
  • offer a vibrant motivation for children to attend school consistently;
  • help parents to realise the importance of "releasing" young children from working in the fields
A scholarship program assists the poorest in these schools and a sub-project providing bicycles to students in poor, rural areas assists their daily transport to school.

This Special School located in Tan Binh District (HCMC):

  • accomodates 100 students with mild intellectual disabilities;

  • developing Early Intervention Programs;
  • Computer Studies;
  • Integration Placements;
  • Vocational Training

How You Can Help

The Loreto Program is appealing to families and friends of ISHCMC to sponsor a child's education. This year the Loreto Program is zoning a lot of enthusiasm into a new building project; a new school in a poor hamlet of Cu Chi District. This means the numbers of students needing assistance has increased. Click here to see how you can help Loreto.
